Assistant Company Secretary
Fixed term Contract (maternity cover) – 35 hours per week Monday to Friday
Salary circa £40,000 pa plus benefits

Our role is to responsibly manage and support the servicing of the UKAR Boards and maintain the highest standards of corporate governance throughout UKAR.
To help us achieve this we are looking for a professional Assistant Company Secretary to join the team based in Crossflatts, West Yorkshire.
Your part in our organisation
This role is responsible for a number of activities which support the UKAR boards and Executive Committee (EXCO) including the development of the corporate structure and management of UKAR’s insurance programme.
Advise EXCO and the business on corporate governance best practice and implement new policies and procedures as required by internal or external developments.
Oversee the distribution of UKAR Board and Committee papers for distribution in accordance with agreed timescales and standards.
Maintain and update subsidiary company records, including making all regulatory returns.
Act as Committee Secretary to EXCO and other Management and Board Committees, including preparation of agendas, minutes and action points.
Maintain and develop the insurance programme to best reflect UKAR’s risk profile in conjunction with the risk team.
You will hold a relevant degree or appropriate post graduate professional qualification, preferably Chartered Secretary (ACIS), and will have experience in a Company Secretary role.
We are looking for someone with expert knowledge of company administration, who has high levels of literacy, accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to deal with complex matters in a strictly confidential manner.
